(CNN)- The U.S. Justice Department plans to file a civil lawsuit against Maricopa County, Arizona, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio over civil rights violations.
In a letter sent Wednesday to an attorney for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Assistant U.S. Attorney General Thomas Perez writes that the county's failure to address racial discrimination and other violations found by the federal government in December will go to litigation.
The sheriff's policies are unconstitutional and in violation of federal law, and compliance "cannot be secured through voluntary means," the letter said.
As a result, the Justice Department will file suit against the county, the sheriff's office and Arpaio.

90 % OF THE ILLEGALS ARE MEXICANS, HOW CAN YOU SAY IS RACIAL PROFILING ?? SHOULD JOE ARREST ESKIMOS TO AVOID RACIALLY PROFILING MEXICANS ???
THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO COMPLAINT ABOUT RACIAL PROFILING ARE THE LAW BREAKERS.
About time this monster was held accountable for his racism.
How is he racist? He enforces the federal law. If you are i.e. this nation illegally, you are a criminal, how hard is that to understand.
Racial profiling and false arrest, illegal search and seizure of legal citizens is against federal law, and has happened too much under this man. At least two fellow Puerto Ricans (U.S. citizens who are not required to speak English by law) have been illegaly deported by departments trying to mimic Arpaio. A class action lawsuit has been put on the city of East Haven, Connecticut for civil rights violations of Spanish-speaking and bilingual U.S. and naturalized citizens because it's police department blunderingly tried to mimic Arpaio to promote a harrassment agenda. The man oversteps his bounds, and he is a LOUSY example of police work.
ILLEGALS GOING TO VOTE WITH THEIR STOLEN I.D,'S ??
