(CNN) - After President Obama announced his support for same-sex marriage, a group organizing a fundraiser on his behalf suddenly had to find a bigger venue. The event, featuring the pop singer Pink, is one of two LGBT-organized fundraisers Obama is expected to attend on the West Coast on Wednesday.
A CNN analysis of President Obama's biggest fundraisers, known as bundlers, shows that at least 33 - or about one in every 16 bundlers - is openly gay. Together, they have raised at least $8 million for the campaign between January and the end of March.
By contrast, in the same period, bundlers from the television, movie and music industry, some of whom attended a recent high-profile fundraiser hosted by actor George Clooney, raised $6.8 million, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Money is bad for politics, unless you are on the "right side of history."
Wisconsin was just the beginning.
...yeah, now if only the Republican Party didn't have a candidate that they absolutely hate! Pity that.
Beginning of what?
I see Racism is alive and well in this country, it's 2012 people...........Get over it! Obama is going to get re-elected.
Sister wives for Romney!
I am honestly curious about your statement. How can you, speaking as either a sister wife or someone who supports the idea of sister wives (based on your statement and name), support someone who defines marriage as one man one woman, when polygamy is one man and more than one woman? I personally support the rights of both gay couples, and consenting polygamous adults, so I'm just curious how you can support someone who opposes something important to you?
*sigh* Dear CNN: this is news? It would have been news if they all came out for Romney. This is what you might call STATING THE OBVIOUS.
Trannys for Obama 2012
Educated plenty as I know not to put a comma before but.
keep blogging, i'm sure you can get hotter lol
And this is news?
Why, yes, it is news. I hadn't heard or read about it. So, it was news to me. Several other millions of people may not have heard about it, either. So, that would make it news to them, as well. You're such the gay insider. We could never pretend to know all the gay news the way you do. Thank you, for confirming there was no new news at all. Now, we can all go about our business as if nothing had happened at all. We are humbled by your presence here.
Romney 2012. Get it done.
lol..good luck
Huh?
This is GREAT news! I wish it had been the biggest headline story for a whole month, right before the election. 90% of the people who read this will be much less likely to vote for Obama! Keep it out there so more can read!
How would having gay supporters cause 90% of people to turn against him? Lots of people are gay- get over it. Having gay supporters will be no more detrimental than having straight supporters. Personally, if I were running for office, I'd rather have accepting, openly gay supporters than be backed by closed minded people who see being gay as anything less than alright.
and the other "lots of people" have many people that simply don't care if a person is gay.. lol
AchyBuncher, do you and your boyfriend agree on this matter?
Thsi society is becoming very sick.
This
Yeah, those flaming religious conservatives have got to go. They need to stop flaunting their lifestyle in everyone's faces and expecting other citizens to have to live by a set of religious rules they themselves chose. They can't even agree upon a unified interpretation of their own faith's doctrines and codes; a little of this, a little of that but not always ALL of it because that might put most of them in violation. All that fuss they make over just about everything anyone else is doing when they really ought to just mind their own business and keep what they do and believe to themselves. They could always choose to not be the way they are. Their choice to be that way shouldn't invade or devalue other peoples' lives.
Sorry Jack, but I agree with Possum. The conservatives are a bane to society. I only wish we had sufficient jail space to toss them all in. Sometimes life just isn't fair.
If this ranks as 'news,' here's another big scoop–the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
