Tarantino: Why I used 'N-word' in film
(CNN) - The film "Django Unchained" has stirred a race debate for weeks, and Sunday night, its writer and director Quentin Tarantino won the Golden Globe for best motion picture screenplay. Backstage, Tarantino used the controversial N-word, which peppers his movie, explaining that critics were not accusing him of using it "more than it was used in the South in 1858," when his film is set. Instead, they were "saying I should soften it. ... and I never do that when it comes to my characters."

Censorship sucks. Especially voluntary censorship. Let's judge the characters in the movies who use the n-word, not the writers who authentically breath life into the characters. Not every movie character is a role model. I think Django has a well-deserved R-rating, so I think anyone who sees it ought to be mature enough to handle the realism. And anyone who knows anything about Q ought to know what to expect from one of his movies (anything). Then again, I think bowdlerization ought to be a felony.

Love the movie,but I don't support him saying that word in every day life. He likes to make people uncomfortable.
